Supporting Meaningful Change in Organisations, Communities, and Culture
Hi, I'm Scott Edwards.
I work with organisations, teams, and leaders navigating complex change — particularly where that change requires more than strategy alone.
The most enduring shifts in culture happen when the people leading them have developed genuine depth: the capacity to act with equanimity, to relate with integrity, and to hold uncertainty without defaulting to control. My work is oriented around that conviction.
Systems, Strategy & Leadership
I bring experience at the intersection of advocacy, education, and cultural change, primarily within healthcare and the not-for-profit sector.
From 2021 to 2025, I served as Executive Officer of Mind Medicine Australia, leading the organisation through a period of significant change. During that time, MMA’s successful advocacy led to Australia becoming the first country in the world to recognise MDMA and psilocybin as medicines — a milestone that required long-term strategic commitment, careful regulatory engagement, and considered public communication. I later designed and delivered the organisation's training program, preparing over 400 clinicians for the responsible rollout of these therapies.
That work taught me a great deal about what it takes to shift entrenched systems — and about the limits of technical solutions when the deeper cultural conditions haven't shifted alongside them.
The Broader Context
We are in a period that calls for genuine integration — between contemporary institutions and the relational, contemplative, and ecological wisdom traditions that modern systems have largely set aside.
The principles required for healthier organisations — such as reciprocity, relational accountability and community-based governance — are not new. They have been practiced across cultures for generations. Those of us shaped by modern institutional life need to cultivate the humility to learn from those traditions in ways that are respectful and culturally sensitive.
My current work is focused on this bridging task: supporting institutions and leaders to engage with enduring wisdom traditions in ways that are genuine, reciprocal, and fit for the complexity of our time.
Individual & Group Work
Alongside this, I work directly with individuals and groups as a somatic facilitator, trained in bodywork, breathwork, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. I create carefully held environments where insight and healing can emerge, supporting participants to move towards their goals in life.
Currently, much of this work centres on the breath as a means of accessing expanded states of awareness in a grounded and accessible way. My colleagues and I have named this work Breath Medicine. You can learn more about it here, including details of upcoming group sessions and opportunities for deeper engagement.
